This is something that most vegans are asked at some point during their transition – as most of them call it. One way or another, but this is something people are interested in.

And they think the diet only consists of salads, so it’s gonna be like feeding a rabbit. This is a really common point of view here in Hungary, today a colleague of mine mentioned at the lunch table that about another colleagues food that that was something they usually give to their birds.

Where am I now?

Hey, so it’s been a month or so since I started moving towards veganism, and I have to admit that I love it. Another thing to admit – it is easier than I expected. I really wouldn’t have thought that I will enjoy it this much without any kind of hassle or pain or something like that.

This one month was full of getting ready and planning the next couple of months in the short term for me.

So, how the hell did that happen? I don’t know. All I know that our fridge was literally full with lots of meat, chicken, beef, ham, sausages (with four different chilies, hot like hell!!!), cheese, breaded chicken wings etc., and suddenly I did not felt like I want them. That week every day when I had come home from work at 6pm I had a big/long chili sausage just for fun. They were sooo good, so hot and spicy that I could not resist.

Less meat, more vegetables

So, a couple of years ago, I went to my company’s for a general check, and he said the my cholesterol level was sort of high. And he said that I should go vegetarian, because

…have you ever seen a fat vegetarian?

Then I talked to lots of vegetarians and other people, for example vegetarians with really high cholesterol, and I decided to eat much less meat.

Less meat but higher quality.

The cholesterol level was better, normal even for years, and I haven’t really paid attention to anything about it.
